What's the best way to start with a new server?

With some other apps, there's a catch-up option to get the pointers set to the last post so you can go from there. Is there something similar I can do in BB?

I've been setting up a new group list and then using it to download the last X. But, when I then go and start a seach for all New, it doesn't seem to work for all newsgroups in the list (maybe because they were previously downloaded in other newgroups?) Some seem to still want to download all.

Use Last New instead of Last. Right click on the subject window, click on the Remember submenu and click the "highest scanned" option. Then step through each group.
