I recently had to reinstall BB
However since the installation everytime i change newsgroups or start the program it starts in auto i untick this and change groups and its in auto again, any solution?

You said it returns to auto after you switch newsgroups. Do you mean group lists? Or is it actually auto downloading each time you move to the next group?

Click the Search toolbar button. On the Window that pops up make sure both Auto and Auto Next are off. The other Auto/Auto Next options within the search session don't persist between sessions.

Say if i`m on group alt.binaries.mp3 80s etc
then i switch to alt.binaries.mp3 90s etc the auto download starts again.

When you click the toolbar Search button to start a search, check both the Auto and Auto Next buttons and then uncheck them. Then click OK to start a search.

If all else fails, run regedit.exe and go to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hochsw\BinaryBoy\1.00

Set AutoNext and AutoSearch to 0.

Editing the reg worked fine
