400K Headers Problem

Hello,

I use Giganews and Binary Boy to search the binary groups for programs. Binary Boy has trouble filtering a group such as cd.images when there are a few hundred thousand headers.
My disk drive keeps spinning and virtual memory runs out. I am using Windows XP on a Pentium 4 2.8B processor that is overclocked. 512 megs of memory. Any solutions/workarounds?

BTW, I am using BB ver. 1.93 build 667.

Significant improvements in memory usage are planned. For now, make sure the Cache option is enabled on the Newsgroups tab in the settings. Also enable "Apply search/filters during subject download" on the Search Strings tab in the settings.

When you download with these options, Binary Boy won't keep all the headers in memory. It will also allow you to refresh from the cache by right-clicking on the Refresh button.
