BB crashing when trying to DL headers

I'm trying to DL headers from alt.binaries.dvdr. There are over 4million headers and BB crashes at 1.5mil. Anyway I can get all of these headers?

There's no set limit for the number of subjects but it's probably running out of memory. You can save subjects on disk instead.

On the Search Strings tab in the Settings enable the "Apply search/filters during subject download" option.

Enable the Cache option on the Newsgroups tab.

Set the search string to something that's not likely to exist and go to the newsgroup. After the subjects are downloaded, you can search the cache by right-clicking the Refresh button.

I can't find a Cache option in Settings.

Also, when I right-click the refresh button after downloading some headers, it finds 0 articles no matter what I try to search for.

Click the Settings toolbar button.
Click the Newsgroups tab
Check "Cache subjects on disk" It's near the bottom left.

Download extended headers? That's the only available check box on this tab

The free trial doesn't use a cache. Are you using the free trial? If so, you can contact me by email at support at binaryboy dot com and I'll try to set something up for you.

Older Pro versions also don't use the cache. You can upgrade to a newer version at http://www.binaryboy.com/patch.php
