Catch Up

Is it possible to have BB do a catchup of a newsgroup so that it resets the marker to the current last message in the newsgroup? It would be like telling BB that I have read all of the messages and would like to call only messages posted later as new one.

I will watch the downloads quite often and manually skip files that I don't want. The next session that I do always goes back and starts downloading these files again and I have to tell BB to skip them again.

Thank-you. ...Dave

It remembers the highest article only when you use either Last New or New as the Starting Point. Also you probably want to use the Highest Scanned option instead of Highest Downloaded. Right-click the results list and go to Remember to change this option.

You can update all groups by doing this:

Open a search session
Right-click the results list. On the Remember submenu, click Highest Scanned.
Click "Last New" in the Starting Point area and set it to 100
Set the Search String to !*
Click Auto Next
Click Refresh

The search string !* will never match anything, so it will simply scan each group and update the pointer. It downloads 100 headers instead of 1 in case there are any gaps in the subject list.

Thank-you for the reply. I'll check this out when I get home this evening.
