nothing downloads

I just re-installed bb because of a hard drive crash. Nothing will download. I have looked at all of the settings a dozen times, but no matter what I enter nothing will download on the search.

I am behind a router, but the router is configured to allow newsgroups (port 119). The news groups download ok, just no results on my searches.

help!

Enable all the searches on the Search Strings tab in the settings.

Start a search with the following options:
Set the Starting Point to All
Set the search string to *
Clear the filter string

If that doesn't work, go to the Search Strings tab in the settings and uncheck all filters while being careful to keep the searches checked. Click Refresh.

If all else fails, you could create a log. Check "Main Log" and "Record search filter/result for every subject" on the Logging tab in the settings. Set the Starting Point to Last 1000. Click Refresh.

Binary Boy will record its progress to <B>c:\program files\binary boy\log.txt</B> or wherever you installed it. You can send the log to support at binaryboy dot com if you'd like me to examine it.

Remember to uncheck the logs on the Logging tab in the settings. Otherwise Binary Boy will be very slow.
